What is Mediation with TheCBBP?

  • Mediation is a process where a neutral third party, or mediator, helps people in a dispute come to a mutually acceptable resolution. Tenets of mediation include confidentially, neutrality and self determination.

  • The mediator's role is to:

    • Listen to all perspectives without taking sides, create a calm environment and facilitate a conversation between the parties.

  • The goals of mediation are to:

    • Clear up misunderstandings, identify underlying concerns and interests and find areas of agreement, and incorporate those areas of agreement into solutions created by the parties.

  • The mediator meets with the parties, via Zoom, to help discuss the issues and explore solutions.

  • Prior to the mediation, the parties sign an agreement to mediate which details the required guidelines and mediation process.

  • The fee is $180 per hour. (The fee is split between the parties.)
